- To create a tool for journalists that is useful and saves them time.
- To generate profits to help finance journalism at AFP, in a context of crisis for our traditional clients and a decline in their revenues.
- AFP will of course continue to provide independent, balanced and impartial coverage of companies and/or entities that contract with MediaConnect, in accordance with AFP's fundamental editorial principles.
- MediaConnect will employ journalists from outside AFP.
- Anyone working for MediaConnect must always identify themselves as such. They must not identify themselves as representing Agence France-Presse.
- Anyone working for MediaConnect must not give the impression that their production will be associated with AFP or that AFP is implicitly endorsing the client's brand.
- Under no circumstances does the posting of content on MediaConnect guarantee that it will be picked up by AFP. This must be clear to both MediaConnect clients and the subsidiary's staff.
- Interviews/Public Speaking: MediaConnect journalists should never agree to speak publicly or be interviewed about client companies or organizations.
- MediaConnect journalists must not take financial advantage of any inside or other information obtained prior to its release, or pass such information on to others for profit.
- Journalists working for MediaConnect must ensure that its content complies with the rules set forth in the contracts between clients and MediaConnect.
- Journalists must not falsify or alter images that have been assigned to MediaConnect.
Editorial Principles
- Race/Religion/Sexual Orientation: MediaConnect shall not publish content that is offensive to individuals or groups based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, race or ethnicity.
- Language: MediaConnect shall not produce content that promotes hate speech or incites violence in accordance with the contracts to be signed between customers and the affiliate. If such content has been posted in error, it must be removed from the platform immediately.
- MediaConnect customers shall not post any information that may constitute a health or safety hazard, or represent a deliberate and proven attempt to mislead the public.
